The effective and successful practice of criminal defense involves many facets. At Nelson Defense Group, we need to creatively tell our client’s story by painting a picture of our client’s lives. Then, we need to develop the most persuasive and compelling way to show the “people in power” what did or did not happen despite what others may say or think. The attorneys at Nelson Defense Group strive to be creative “artists” who move their audience to take action (i.e. vote Not Guilty, reduce charges, and/or agree to a lesser punitive sentence and/or outcome).
When Nelson Defense Group was founded in 2017, we immediately decided to create an Art Scholarship for local High School students. All High School students enrolled in St. Croix County are eligible to apply and participate. The deadline for submissions is typically April 1st. Click here for more details and an application. Once all of the applications and photos of the art pieces are submitted, the employees at Nelson Defense Group enjoy voting for their favorites pieces of art. The top three vote-getters are each presented with a $500 art scholarship reward in exchange for Nelson Defense Group’s “rental” of their art for one year. The three winning art pieces will then be proudly displayed at Nelson Defense Group until the following scholarship season, when the next three winners are announced.
